What starts as playing for fun can turn into unhealthy gaming behaviour. The risk of a gaming addiction then increases.
These signals are a sign of unhealthy gaming behaviour:
You are no longer playing for the fun of it.
You go to the casino more often than you intended. You also go to the casino when you should actually be doing something else.
You think about gaming more and more often. And you can’t relax until you start playing again.
You play for a very long time without stopping. You struggle to quit and lose track of time.
You think you have cracked the system. As a result, you forget you’re dealing with games of chance, and that wins come at random.
You lose control of your gaming. You start making excuses or lying about your gaming behaviour.
You start having problems with the people around you. You no longer meet up with friends. And you get angry when people say something about your gaming behaviour.
You play with money you can’t afford to lose. As a result, you get into trouble with money.
You are in debt or going to borrow money to play. You want to make up for your losses by playing more.
You want to quit gaming, but you can’t. You feel guilty or ashamed. You feel down.
