Caribbean Stud Poker was offered at Holland Casino as early as 1995. In this poker game, bluffing is not necessary, as you play against the bank. With the arrival of the nationwide Poker Jackpot, playing along is now even more exciting.
Caribbean Stud Poker is a variant of the traditional Poker card game. You play exclusively against the bank. The goal is to win against the bank. You win if you have a higher card combination than the bank, or if the bank does not play. The latter is the case when the bank has a lower card combination than Ace/King.
You play Caribbean Stud Poker with value chips. You can change them with the croupier or at the cashier's desk. You get value chips by putting money on the table. Then the croupier gives you value chips.
Place your bet on the 'Ante', the spot for the first bet. If you want a chance to win the Jackpot, place an additional bet. Ask the croupier how to bet for the Jackpot. Betting is allowed until the croupier says, "No more bets please." and from then on your bet is final.
You receive 5 face-down cards. You play with them. Then you choose to continue, or stop. Do you fold? Then place your cards face down at the level of your Ante bet. Do you raise? Then place your cards face down in the 'Bet' box. Place a double bet of your Ante bet on top of your cards.
The bank receives 5 cards, 1 of which is face-up. After the players choose fold or raise, the bank shows all its cards. If the bank has a lower combination than Ace/King ('no hand'), the bank does not play. If you are still in the game, you get your Ante bet paid once. If the bank has Ace/King or better, then your cards are compared with those of the bank. With a higher combination than the bank, you get paid according to the payout schedule.
You win 1x your Ante bet when you are still in the game and the bank has 'no hand'.
You have a better combination than the bank: your Ante bet is paid out 1x. For your Bet bet, the payout schedule applies.
Draw between you and the bank. Your bet stands.
The bank has a better combination than you. The bank wins your bet.
